Assessor Course (ACWE) Duration & Assessment
While the average completion time for candidates is 2-3 months, you’re allowed up to 12 months to finish the course, ensuring you have all the time you need. During this period, the course is assessed through written and practical assignments you complete and upload for grading on our online portal.
To conduct assessments for this qualification, you are required to have access to a physical workplace. This is because the qualification is competency-based, meaning you must demonstrate practical skills and knowledge in a real-world environment.
This course is assessed in 2 different ways.
Unit 1: This unit focuses on theory and is evaluated through several written assignments. These assignments assess your understanding and application of theoretical concepts covered in the course.
Unit 2: Assessment for this unit involves uploading various types of evidence. This includes plans, assessment records, and feedback related to practical applications of the course material.
Please note that to conduct assessments for this course, you must have at least two learners enrolled in the qualifications you are assessing.
What are the Requirements for the Assessor Qualification
You should have math and English skills at a Level 2 standard. As part of the course requirements, you must arrange to assess two learners. This involves evaluating their performance and gathering evidence for your portfolio. You must also be observed by an expert witness, a qualified assessor within an organisation who will verify that your work was conducted correctly.

AVRA stands for Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement. This is a level 3 assessor qualification that focuses on assessing competence in a learning environment. On the other hand, ACWE focuses on assessing occupational competence in a work environment.
You will need to have a minimum of level 2 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent and be at least 18 years old.
To conduct assessments for this qualification, you are required to have access to a physical workplace. This is because the qualification is competency-based, meaning that you need to demonstrate practical skills and knowledge in a real-world environment. You must have at least two learners enrolled in the qualifications you are assessing.
Learners upload assignments and assessments on to the online portal, with 24/7 access, for tutor’s feedback and marking.
If you refer on an assessment, your tutor will give you detailed feedback to help you understand where you need to improve. You will revise your work based on this feedback and submit an improved version.
