Level 3 Assessor Award (UPPA) Unit 1: This unit focuses on knowledge and is excellent for current assessors who want to improve their skills. It teaches the background knowledge and importance of assessment practices.

Level 3 Assessor Award (AVRA) Unit 1 & 2: This qualification allows you to assess students in a training setting, like a workshop or classroom, but not in their workplace.

Level 3 Assessor Award (ACWE) Unit 1 & 2: This qualification lets you assess students at their workplace rather than in a classroom. Like the Vocationally Related Achievement award, you will determine the skills of two learners.

Level 3 Assessor Award (CAVA) Unit 1, 2 & 3: This qualification lets you assess students in training and at their workplace and covers all three units of an assessor course.

Which IQA Qualification Do You Need?

If you are starting out as an assessor, the Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) could be a good start to get into internal quality assurance.

If you want to actively work as an IQA and assess assessments within an organization, we recommend the Level 4 IQA Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

For those ready to advance in their IQA career, the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice, which qualifies you as a lead IQA, is the best choice.

What is the Difference between an IQA and a Lead IQA?

IQA (Internal Quality Assurer)

An IQA confirms that assessment practices are consistent and that the standards set by the organisation and the regulatory body are met.

Lead IQA (Leading Internal Quality Assurer)

A Lead IQA has a more senior role. They oversee the IQA process for the whole organisation or sector and lead a team of IQAs responsible for the organisation's quality assurance policies and practices.
